Onboarding and Offboarding Products
Introduction
Through the use of our Product Catalog Management Service you can ensure that your client application is always up to date with the current product list and latest product information.
It is recommended that you refresh your catalog daily or weekly to update and enrich the various metadata attributes associated to the products and to make the process of onboarding and offboarding seamless.

Onboarding New Products
The process for adding the product from the partner catalog must be mutually agreed by Blackhawk Network and the product issuer or manager. Once the product is certified and tested by the Blackhawk Network team, it is onboarded and is ready for the client.
Based on the approvals from the content partner to participate in the client program, the Blackhawk Network account manager initiates the process of onboarding the products in internal systems. After the notification to the client, the product is onboarded into the client’s product catalog.
Note: You must trigger a catalog refresh to ensure the new production information is synced to the client application.
Recommended Process
As a recommended process, the client application should have a content management system administrative tool at their end, which would enable them to make this new product available for the consumer base. Once approved the product is ready for sale on the client application.
Offboarding Products
The process for deleting the product from the partner catalog should be mutually agreed upon by Blackhawk Network and the partner.
A product can be deleted from the partner catalog if the digital partner or the card partner decides to not participate in the program. After the notification to the partner, the product is off boarded from the partner catalog.
Important Notes
- After the catalog refresh, the product is no longer available for sale.
- Balance Inquiry calls for accounts already created for the off boarded product will continue to work and return the balance.
- The Activation Spot URL will be valid for the gift purchased for this product.
Recommended Process
As a recommended process, the client should have a content management admin tool at their end, which would enable them to make this product unavailable for the consumer. This product is grayed out and no longer available.
